< Back
Gévelot Extrusion is one of the European leaders in manufacturing machined parts for the automotive industry, based on extruded cold and semi-hot parts. Through a wide adapted and calculated investment policy, Gévelot Extrusion provids its customers with a high-performance industrial tool.

An economical and high-performance process

Cold or semi-hot extrusion is a way of producing high precision mechanical parts at competitive costs. The advantage of this technology is essentially found in the quality of the finished products :

  • Implemented weight close to that of the finished part : This particularity of extrusion becomes really important regarding considerable fluctuations of raw materials prices seen over the last years
  • Improved mechanical characteristics because of hardening
  • Excellent fibering improving resistance to time
  • High precision and excellent surface condition
  • High production rates
  • Economical production of some complex shapes

In addition, the Gévelot Extrusion production facilities have the latest equipment enabling them to carry out certain finishing operations like precision machining and heat treatment.

A very wide range of technical products

The particularity of Gévelot Extrusion, as a major actor in the cold and semi-hot forging sector, is its wide range of very technical products that can be found in different parts of a car. In recent years Gévelot Extrusion renewed its industrial tool, adapting and specializing it to meet the new demands of the automotive arket. All the production facilities now have the latest high-performance industrial equipment.

Specialised production facilities :

  • LAVAL (Mayenne) with manufacturing capabilities of satellite and planet gears for gearboxes is finalizing Gévelot Extrusion industrial tool.
  • OFFRANVILLE (Seine Maritime) specialized in the manufacturing of drive shafts principally for big customers like PSA and General Motors.
  • TOUCY (Yonne) has great experience in generating suspension and steering swivels. Daimler-Chrysler, TRW, JEKT are all big customers at this facility.
  • DOLD (Germany), a subsidiary of Gévelot Extrusion, specializing in suspension parts includes among its big customers BMW, Magna, Daimler-Chrysler and ZF-Lemforder.

A center dedicated to research & development

Preparing for the future, the Technical and evelopment Center is where the company concentrates its R&D resources.

The design office, the forge simulation software, the press and the test benches, the metallurgical and metrology laboratories are all essential tools to address the specific demands of our customers.

New parts go through industrialization every year by the Technical and Development Center working in tight collaboration with the production facilities. With this industrial and technical organization, Gévelot Extrusion has a differentiating element capable of responding reactively and effectively to the main European actors.

Continuity in-progress policy

Involving all its staff with its continuous automotive improvement approach, Gévelot Extrusion has taken a leading place among all the famous players of the automotive world. The organisations set up on all the production sites and the central structures are certified according to the most demanding references. In France and in Germany, this recognition has resulted in the company being awarded ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 certifications.

Sustainable development is also an integral part of the improvement strategy followed by Gévelot Extrusion, affirming its behaviour as a responsible and civically-minded enterprise. In 2006, the French sites were certified according to the ISO 14001 references and Dold, the German subsidiary has made this certification one of its goals for 2007.

DOLD, a reference in Germany

DOLD the German subsidiary of Gévelot Extrusion, located in the Black Forest near Freiburg, was founded a hundred years ago and has always focused on innovation. The cold three-dimensional striking technique simulation systems and the CAD tools are all testimony to DOLD’s concern to stay on pole position in the technology.

Dold offers particularly high-performance in the production of hollow and asymmetrical parts producing large and small runs of automotive parts. Many automakers and equipment manufacturers in Germany like BMW, DAIMLER-CHRYSLER, BOSCH, OPEL, ZF, TRW, LEMFORDER (...) considered DOLD to be a privileged and trusted partner.
